It is a compact sized semi-automatic, with the barrel length reduced to 3”, a shorter slide and with the total length of 6.75”. The pistol is available in .9mm and classic .45 ACP calibers.

About Colt Defender

The Colt was firstly introduced the Colt Defender in 1998. It was the first reliable 3” barreled 1911 model on the market.

It is a compact sized semi-automatic, with the barrel length reduced to 3”, a shorter slide and with the total length of 6.75”. The pistol is available in .9mm and classic .45 ACP calibers.

It features a light metal frame; a grip safety is extended into a beavertail and it typically has a Novak sights, with a triple aspect night sights. The frame size is the same as that of the Officers model ACP.

This pistol contains several safety features such as a firing pin safety and a safety catch located on the left side of the frame. The Defender belongs to a Series 80 pistol that features the internal passive firing-pin safety to avoid unwanted discharges when dropped due to inertia. The Series 80 system has always been an effective prevention.

The handle of the gun has a rubber grip with the finger grooves, which provides an exceptional hold and target acquisition.

The Defender is an excellent choice for an everyday concealed carry. Moreover, it offers power, accuracy, reliability and performance every time.
